Theresa Kiff

MNZAC.
Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Arts Therapy, Bachelor of Counselling, Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology), Graduate Diploma of Teaching, Montessori International Diploma, NZ Registered Teacher, NZ Registered Counsellor.

My therapeutic approach is Narrative Therapy, and I also incorporate creative and expressive approaches to counselling, including art and sand tray in my work with adults, children and young people; and play-based approaches in work with children. My goals are to provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you are heard and understood, and to offer you support and collaboration in addressing life problems. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly. I am committed to Te Tirīti o Waitangi in my practice.

I have been working with children for nearly 30 years, as a teacher and more recently as a counsellor. I worked with adults in the U.K. through Samaritans, a mental health support service, and Cruse, a bereavement support service. In Aotearoa New Zealand I have experience as a counsellor working with adults through Hospice Waikato, and with children and young people through Single Parent Services Waikato and Zion Counselling in Schools. I am a provider for ACC Sensitive Claims, Victim Support, and Aoake Te Rā  (a service for people bereaved by suicide)
